Because of Manes goal Ikrami opens fire on Mohamed El-Shenawy

The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the tournament after losing to Senegal with an unanswered goal, scored by Sadio Mane in the 78th minute, setting the “Lions of Teranga” against Morocco in the final match, while the “Pharaohs” will compete in the third-place match against Nigeria next Saturday.

For God’s sake, look at El-Shenawy’s reaction like this. By God, if a goalkeeper is still learning, he wouldn’t do that. You are sliding on your knee instead of doing your work on the ball. You are not participating in El-Shenawy’s goal every time, and you will be able to compensate, as you did against Cote d’Ivoire. Whoever was coming down is as afraid of you as you were today.pic.twitter.com/XyhNOXZBli

In statements on MBC Egypt, Ekramy confirmed that he had previously defended El-Shenawy after the Côte d’Ivoire match in the quarter-finals, but he stressed that his position was completely different after the Senegal match, saying that the level of the international goalkeeper does not reflect his true abilities.

Ekramy explained that Mane’s shot came from a long distance and from a clear angle of view, and there was no justification for not confronting it, adding that El-Shenawy was not subjected to real pressure throughout the match, and yet he conceded a goal for which he bears full responsibility.

He also pointed out that the goalkeeper did not show sufficient reaction to try to stop the ball, considering that such balls should be dealt with easily at this level.

Ikrami also touched on the technical aspects of the match, criticizing the management of the technical staff led by Hossam Hassan, explaining that the fatigue resulting from the pressure of the matches does not justify relying on the scenario of reaching penalty kicks, especially in a strong confrontation the size of Senegal.
