Universal Studios Slammed As Its Revealed Guests Now Face Up To $80 In Fees Before Even Entering The Theme Park

Universal Studios has been fiercely slammed online after it was revealed that guests now face up to an $80 fee before even entering the theme park.

Going to any theme park is an expensive endeavor between costly entry tickets, over-priced food and of course, the high-priced toys and merchandise that quickly add up.

Now, many guests going to Universal Studios theme park in Hollywood, Californiawill have to pay even as it was recently announced that parking fees have gone up.

It now costs a whopping $80 to park in the area closest to the front gate instead of $70, and $60 for preferred parking instead of $50.

In addition, general parking has risen from $35 to $50.

After the news was shared on X, formerly Twitterthis week, many users were quick to share their outrage over the sky-high fees.

‘Bloody outrageous,’ one disgruntled Universal fan wrote.

‘So… Uber?’ someone else sarcastically penned, while a third person chimed in, ‘$80 to park? LMAO.’

‘It was $25 just four years ago,’ read a fourth tweet.

Back in March, it was reported that Universal Studios over in Orlando, Florida, had quietly increased its food prices at various eateries around the park.

Its neighbor, Disney World, has also been rolling out price increases, and one recent spike caused immense backlash for the amusement park.

Disney has long offered a service that allows guests to ship products bought at the park home for a fee rather than lugging them through the airport.

The cost depends on the value of the items, and for years, that fee was capped at $40.

However, the service recently got much expensive, and fans were not happy about it.

It was revealed last week that Disney had increased shipping rates, and the maximum has now jumped from $40 to a whopping $99.99 – a 150 percent increase.

If your items total up to $100, it now costs $19.99 to ship them anywhere in the US, items costing $100.01 to $250 cost $34.99 to ship, while items costing $250.01 to $500 costs $74.99 to ship. Anything above that value costs $99.99 to ship.

International shipping ranges from $30 to $150, depending on the value of your items, increasing by $10 increments for every $50 in merchandise value.

Fans were outraged by the news, with one pointing out that it’s the park’s ‘steepest price increase’ as of late.

‘What the heck, that’s insane,’ one shocked X (formerly Twitter) user wrote in response to the announcement.

‘Disney hates their middle-class American customers. They’ve been telling us for years now,’ scathed another.

‘Disney truly hates its middle-class guests,’ agreed someone else.

Back in 2010, a one-day adult ticket to Disney World ranged from $79 to $82, and now, 15 years on, single-day tickets cost as much as $189 for Magic Kingdom – and it was recently announced that the ticket prices would be going up again in 2026.

A ticket to enter Disneyland in California when it first opened in 1955 would have cost an adult just $1, which would be $11.53 today if adjusted for inflationwhile children’s tickets cost a mere 50 cents.

At the time of opening, however, guests had to pay additional fees for each ride. But these cost just 10 cents for kids and 23 cents for adults – the equivalent of $1.15 and $2.65 in today’s dollars.

Now, it’ll cost you anywhere from $103 to $206 for a day at Disneyland and a minimum of $119 for Disney World, depending on when you go and the type of ticket you buy.
