NASA: The Space Object 3I/ATLAS Performs An Unusual Maneuver As It Approaches The Sun

uaetodaynews.com — NASA: The space object 3I/ATLAS performs an unusual maneuver as it approaches the sun
The report stated: “The sun’s radial acceleration is 135 kilometers (9×10-7 astronomical units) per square day. The tangential (parallel) acceleration with respect to the direction of the sun is 60 kilometers (4×10-7 astronomical units) per square day.”
The report indicated that this unusual maneuver was carried out at a distance equivalent to 203 million kilometers.
The scientist at Harvard University, Avi Loeb, suggested that it was likely that an unknown force was affecting the space object, causing it to deviate from its path as it approached the sun. It was suggested that ATLAS be moved by jet propulsion.
The scientist added that if this were true, the body would lose half its mass within a certain period of time.
“It should be possible to detect such a massive loss of mass in the form of a large cloud of gas surrounding 3I/ATLAS during the following months: November and December 2025,” he concluded.
